Story
COMMUNITY - INCLUSIVE - SUSTAINABLE - TEAM - FAMILY
Orpington Football Club has been offering fitness and social opportunities for men, women, boys and girls through grassroots football for over 80 years! Whether players join through our Academy and Wildcats programs or join our Vets, belonging to the OFC community really does matter. On the pitches at Goddington Park there is high quality football for all ages and abilities. We have one of the largest grassroots youth football sections in the south east with around 450 boys and girls aged between 6 and 18 registered for teams. Our Men's First team were Kent Junior Cup runners-up last year and our Ladies team is developing. Our proactive and positive reputation has spread across the region. This is thanks to a number of factors - a thriving youth football offering; a huge number of qualified referees; our Young Leader program and pan-disability SEN Stallion offerings; and the many OFC volunteers - Managers, Coaches and others without whom the Club would not exist!
However.....constructed before safeguarding and health and safety were on the Council's radar, the existing pavilion is no longer fit for purpose for any of it's users! The windowless, breeze block, former mortuary (in WWII), undersized facility doesn't meet the Football Foundation's minimum requirements. The new design aims to bring the facility up to modern safeguarding, ecological and accessibility standards making it suitable for hosting both the increased quantity and standard of football offered to men, women, boys, and girls, as well as the growing demand for sport, recreation and the wider Goddington Park community.
