Paws Rescue - Help Us To Help Them

Organised by Paws Rescue UK

This summer is the worst weve ever experienced. The animals in our care rely on your kind donations, and they need you more than ever right now. No amount is too big or too small. Please help us raise £10,000 to allow us to keep doing what we do.

Paws Rescue UK has been founded as a platform for Paws Rescue Qatar to re-home homeless cats and dogs in Qatar to homes in the UK. Paws Rescue Qatar provides a safe haven from the harsh sun for these homeless animals, who all deserve a second chance. We rely on donations to keep everything going.

Story

On the left is Iggy. A man contacted us after seeing an injured kitten in his apartment parking. He had contacted every rescue he could find, but nobody came to help the kitten. The man had no money himself to keep the kitten. He was desperate. One of our volunteers felt such great pity for the man and the kitten that despite being over full, we took him to the vets. It was found that his leg was not broken, but was badly wounded. He also had a rectal prolapse and tested positive for pan leukopenia. The diarrhoea had cause this prolapse. We named the kitten Iggy. He stayed on a drip at the vets for a week and gradually got better and is now back at the rescue being prepared to travel to the UK after the summer.

On the right is Noelle and her puppies. We were contacted and alerted to a dog with head wound. She was hiding under a car with her puppies. Her head wounds had maggots in them. It became apparent that a nearby worker had attempted to kill the maggots by pouring cockroach killer into her wound and on her head. Rushing to her rescue, we brought her and her six puppies to the vet. When they were healthy enough, they were then placed into foster. Despite all the pain Noelle had been through, she is a very loving soul. She is now with her new family in the US, as well as her puppies, some of which are in the UK.

Every single one of our animals has a story, like Iggy and Noelle. Every animal we rescue needs routine vaccinations, microchips, neutering and most need specialist care following a traumatic life on the streets. This all requires money that right now, we just dont have. Summer is always hard, but this year is the worst we have known. Many animals that were adopted during lockdown are now bouncing back into shelters. People can go on holiday for the first time since lockdown and are not adopting. The cost of living is becoming a crisis and people are putting off adopting even further.

Without adopters, donators and volunteers, we wouldnt be able to do what we do for these animals. We rely solely on donations and without your help, we cant save any more animals from the streets and the scorching summer heat. We want to continue answering calls for help and saving lives, but without the much need finances, the future is uncertain.

Please help us reach our goal of £10,000 in an attempt to continue what we do. We cant do this without you, and right now our animals need you more than ever!
