Story

Message from Head Coach Brian Voigt:

Fall baseball is in FULL swing, and the energy is high! We’ve completed two scrimmages with one more to go, and the team has been working extremely hard. So far this fall, they’ve looked sharp and focused, showing great promise for what’s ahead.

After a successful 2025 season — which featured our first 20-win campaign since 2012, finishing with 21 wins — the Peacocks are aiming to take the next big step in the GLVC in 2026. One of the highlights of last season was our thrilling series win over eventual GLVC Tournament champions, Missouri S&T, played in front of a packed home crowd all weekend!

We’re bringing back a strong, experienced core this year, and we couldn’t be more excited about what this group is poised to accomplish — both on the field and as leaders for our younger student-athletes. We’ve also welcomed some talented newcomers into the program who have brought great energy and are already pushing the standard in workouts and practices. The mix of veteran leadership and youthful talent gives us a lot to look forward to. We’ll kick off our 2026 season at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma from February 6–8.

This fall, we also hosted our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament, where we had the honor of welcoming back the 1996 team — the only World Series team in school history! It was a weekend full of laughs, great memories (some repeated, but who's counting after 30 years?), a few coach-worn shirts auctioned off, and an all-around fantastic time with our Peacock family.

Why Giving Day Matters:

Thanks to past Giving Day support, we’ve been able to invest in tools that significantly elevate our program:

• Synergy account for advanced video breakdowns — giving us synced, multi-angle footage to better coach every position.

• In-depth scouting reports with game footage of opponents — helping us prepare at a high level.

• We're still working toward our goal of multi-camera livestreaming for our games in the spring.

Baseball Program Needs:

We’re looking to continue improving our program with key facility and equipment upgrades, including:

• Field improvements: repairing the outfield fence, enhancing both bullpens with new mounds and turf for catcher areas, and increasing bullpen netting.

• Replacing current batting cage nets and adding an additional batting cage to support player development.

• Practice equipment upgrades to improve training efficiency.

• Field supplies to keep our playing surface in top condition year-round.

• Enhancing the student-athlete experience on the road — from travel logistics to meals and accommodations, we want every student-athlete to feel fully supported when competing away from home.

These upgrades are only possible because of the continued support from our friends, families, and alumni. While Peacock Baseball has taken meaningful steps forward, there is still work to be done.

In baseball, we like to say, "It only takes one." The same is true for our supporters — one person, one gift, one act of generosity can make a big difference. No donation is too big or too small, and every contribution helps us compete and develop at the highest level.
