Message from Head Coach Bri Lawrence:

The purpose of the Cheer and Dance teams at Upper Iowa University is not only to provide support and bring Peacock Spirit to all programs within the athletics department, but also to compete at the regional and national level. Both teams work hard to reach their goals of creating a positive culture and integrating our Peacock Spirit into the surrounding communities.

We were able to take over a great space in Dorman last year for our team room. This has been a great change so that our student-athletes have a place that they can call home and leave belongings securely, whether it be for practice, strength and conditioning times, appointments with athletic training, or on gamedays.

With the help of friends, family, our alumni, and our wonderful cheer/dance community, we hope to develop and grow this team to new levels in the coming years.

Cheer and Dance Team Needs:

* Nationals Competition for Cheer: Our team is proud to represent Upper Iowa at competitions throughout the season. This year, we are excited for the possibility of returning to Orlando, Florida, for the College Classic Nationals stage in person for the first time in three years! This portion of our fundraising will go towards the costs for flights, hotel, registration to the competition, as well as time for team bonding.

* Cheer and Dance Team Room: We are excited to have a place for our student-athletes to call home as a group. We would love to be able to continue to provide healthy snack and drink options for after practices or between home basketball games as we take a short break. Along with this we would love to make it homier for them by working to add items such as a vanity desk, new storage areas, and more!

* Cheer and Dance Uniforms: Staying up-to-date on the current wear and styles in the cheer and dance world keeps continued interest in our program. Being able to add to our collection in a big or small way each year helps our team continue to stand out at games and competitions!
