Story

Message from Head Coach Jason Hoskins:

Peacock friends and family - Thank you for all the support you have given to our Football program. Your generosity has propelled our program to greater success in both the GLVC and nationally in the NCAA. So far this year, we have had a 4-game winning streak, the first since 2014. We also beat a ranked opponent on the road for the first time since 2019. This win brought us some national attention. We have received votes in the AFCA Coaches Poll this season, and still have an opportunity to play in a postseason game.

This added success has made Saturdays in Fayette the best small school atmosphere you can ask for. The tailgate area is full a couple of hours before the game with music, games, and food. It’s a place for all Peacock fans to get together and have some fun before heading in to watch the game. During the game, our fans are engaged, and our football team can feel the energy in Harms-Eischeid Stadium, making this a true home-field advantage.

We have been able to bring large groups of recruits (40-50 each game) and have them experience the great game day atmosphere. All of this is possible because of the great people in and around our program. There isn’t a better fanbase in Division II football, and together we can continue to make Upper Iowa a tremendous football program in the Midwest.

We still have some work that needs to be done to take that next step. Potential student-athletes want to see the progress a program is making and that they are comfortable while here.

Our locker room has been one of those spaces for many years here in Fayette, but it has gotten tired and is in need of work. Locker rooms are one of the big selling points in college recruiting. To offset the lack of space in the locker room, we have created a player lounge by the football offices as a space where our team can get together. It’s a great start, but we know more can be done to help our current and future football players, and I know all of our fellow Peacocks can help us get that done!

We look forward to continuing our success and finishing with one of the best football seasons Upper Iowa has had. Moving forward, we can continue to be one of the better teams in the GLVC and the Midwest.

Your continued support will be needed to accomplish these lofty goals. Thank you again for all the support you have given, and I appreciate you supporting us again this year in our Peacock Power Challenge!
