Story
Message from Head Coach Rachel Rhode:
It’s been an exciting fall here in Fayette as we begin a new era for Peacock Softball! Our team has competed hard throughout our fall schedule, facing some of the top junior college programs in the region and gaining valuable experience against great competition.
I could not be prouder of our student-athletes for their willingness to embrace change and fully buy into the new culture and vision we’re building here. They’ve shown tremendous openness to new drills, different practice styles, and the overall expectations of what it means to be Built to Last — our program motto that challenges them to grow as players, students, and teammates every single day.
Our spring schedule will continue that challenge, as we look forward to a strong non-conference slate with tournaments in Branson (MO), Rogers State (OK), the Lewis Dome Invitational (IL), and Kansas City (MO). These events will test us against teams that consistently appear in national rankings and help prepare us for another highly competitive season in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
As the only NCAA Division II softball program in Iowa, we take great pride in representing Upper Iowa University and showcasing Peacock pride across the Midwest.

The Power of Your Support
The support of Upper Iowa Softball has been incredible, and we’re deeply grateful for the generosity shown through past Peacock Power 24-Hour Giving Challenges. Your donations have directly provided essential equipment, travel opportunities, and experiences that elevate our program and enrich our student-athletes’ time here at UIU.
We are once again asking for your partnership and support as we continue building a program that is truly Built to Last. Every gift — large or small — directly impacts our players’ experience and helps us continue to provide a first-class environment that allows them to grow both on and off the field.
Your contribution this year will allow us to make huge strides toward improving our facilities, expanding our competitive opportunities, and enhancing our player development resources. Together, we can continue to provide our student-athletes with the tools, experiences, and pride that define Peacock Softball.
Thank you for believing in our mission, for supporting our athletes, and for helping us represent Upper Iowa with pride.
We are grateful for your generosity — and Go Peacocks!

Softball Program Needs
• Non-Conference Trips: We are committed to providing our student-athletes with the best possible experience through a competitive and challenging spring schedule. This year’s trips to Branson, Rogers State, the Lewis Dome Tournament, and Kansas City will give our team the chance to face nationally ranked opponents and grow together on and off the field.
• Field Upgrades: Our home at the Eischeid Softball Complex has great bones, and we take pride in its history and setting. We would love to continue upgrading the facility — including updating wind screens, adding new logos, and enhancing the overall field appearance to reflect the excellence of Peacock Softball.
• PAAC (Indoor Facility) Enhancements: The PAAC is an essential part of our program, and we use it constantly throughout the year. We’re hoping to add new screens, mats, and training equipment to keep this space one of the best indoor facilities in the GLVC, giving our athletes a top-tier training environment no matter the weather.
