Message from Jeancy Matumona-Bau, Peacock Men’s Soccer Head Coach

Hello, Peacock Family!

As we reflect on this fall season, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported and encouraged our program. Your commitment to Upper Iowa Men’s Soccer means a great deal to our players, coaching staff, and the entire Peacock family.

This season has been one of growth, resilience, and learning. Transitioning to a new head coach brings change and challenges, but I am incredibly proud of how our team has responded. We have continued to grow together, strengthen our relationships, and build an even stronger family bond. Regardless of the challenges we have faced, our unity and commitment to one another remain at the heart of our program.

Although our results may not always have reflected our performances, our players fought in every single game. Many of our matches were extremely close, and we consistently demonstrated our ability to compete. We created scoring opportunities, controlled portions of games, and showed determination until the final whistle. These experiences have taught us valuable lessons about consistency, discipline, resilience, and what it takes to win at this level.

As we move into the offseason, our focus is on building upon these lessons, developing our players, and establishing an even stronger foundation for the future. We believe in the potential of this group, and our ambition is to show what Upper Iowa Men’s Soccer can accomplish and compete at the top of the conference.

We will also continue improving our locker room and team facilities. Thanks to your generous support, we have added lockers, flooring, and banners recognizing our program’s history, including our 2015 MIAA Conference Championship team. Our next goals include completing the flooring, adding more banners, finishing the drywall, and installing a projector and screen for team film sessions. We also hope to add soccer-specific furniture to create a space where our players can connect and strengthen our team culture.

Representing Upper Iowa University and the Peacock Nation is a privilege we will never take for granted. While this season may not have produced the results we hoped for, it has helped us grow stronger as players, coaches, and as a family. We have shown that we can fight through adversity, compete in every match, and stand together through difficult moments.

The future of Peacock Soccer is bright, and we are excited to keep building, improving, and showing what this program is capable of achieving. With your continued support, we believe we can take Upper Iowa Men’s Soccer to the next level.

On behalf of our players, coaching staff, and the entire program, thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to building something special together.

Once a Peacock, Always a Peacock!

Go Peacocks!
