The High Sheriff’s Charity this year is Foundation Derbyshire, which is the community foundation for our city and county. They will hold donated monies for the benefit of charities and not for profit organisations involved in community cohesion.
Building on my theme of ‘Unity is Community’, Foundation Derbyshire epitomises that, and are tremendous at providing support, advice and grants to a diverse range of charities and groups across Derbyshire.
They are constantly evolving and making themselves known, providing vital funds across the county to enhance wellbeing, grow community cohesion and understanding, as well as improve the provision of services for all. Since being in office, I’m constantly amazed by those going above and beyond in order to enrich the lives of others. Any monies raised will help support Foundation Derbyshire to continue to support others.
I’m very grateful to my walking buddies, Heather Lounds, Debi Hedderwick and Lorelei Jarvis for being up for the challenge (though not so much for them!)
A practice walk, fuelled by ice cream before Snowdon on Thursday.....A huge thank you to everyone that has donated so far. Your support and generosity means so much!
All 'fresh faced' and ready to start the climb at 8.30 am....
and then a quick rest stop!
Mission accomplished, we are shattered but so pleased at reaching the summit.
A massive thank you to my walking buddies, Heather, Debi and Lorelei, sporting their ostrich feathers in support. Thanks for all who have sponsored @Foundation_DBS
