Special Families Maesteg is a charity that supports children/adults with disabilities and their families. Our board of trustees are all parents or grandparents of children/ young adults who have a disability. We work tirelessly and 100% voluntarily to provide much needed support to families in the local area.

In September 2019 we acquired a base at The Fairfield Centre, Maesteg. Within the centre we have a gaming room, sensory room and function room where we provide activities for our children/adults who have disabilities. Here they are free to enjoy and socialise in a safe, non judgemental environment. We also provide practical and emotional support for parent carers.

The cost of running the centre is high with rent to pay and the day to day running costs. For this reason we need to fundraise as much as possible. We thought an inclusive walk at Pen y Fan would be a fantastic way of raising much needed funds and a great way to include our children and young adults. Completing the walk will give everyone a great sense of achievement.
