Since we are not able to hold any face to face meets at the moment, we felt that it was still just as important (if not more so) to bring families together in some way if possible. So...
We are holding a 'Percy Picnic' on Friday 14th May 2021. The idea is that families or nurseries or school class bubbles or paediatric rheumatology clinics would hold some sort of event loosely themed around a picnic e.g. virtual online Zoom picnic with lots of people, family garden picnic, front garden socially distanced street picnic, front garden bake sale, sponsored event, or even just stick a Percy flag in your lunch at work! An easy idea for you - you could put sweets in a jar, take a picture, share and ask your friends and family to guess the number for a small donation to Percy!
We have created a group where anyone can download and print lots of fun and FREE resources to help them get started from posters to bunting to cake toppers etc and there are lots of different ideas there too. If you need something specific that is not there then please just shout. www.facebook.com/groups/percyspicnic
Alternatively, we understand there may not be time to organise something we are asking for donations for those that would simply like to donate to help us. It is short notice and it is a crazy time for us all! But families need our support! We feel this will firstly unite families on that weekend and will also help raise awareness of JIA and raise funds for us to help bring to life some new family support projects we want to get started on.
(NB your event doesn't have to be those exact dates but anytime that suits around then)
