Growing Together for Sunny Cycles
At Sunny Cycles, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to cycle - to feel the freedom, confidence and joy that comes with it.
But for many people living with disabilities, including hidden disabilities, that access isn’t always easy.
That’s where Petal Power begins.
🌱 A Simple Idea, A Bigger Impact
Petal Power is a community campaign built on a simple action:
plant a sunflower, watch it grow, and support someone else’s journey.
For a small donation, you become part of something bigger — a shared experience that connects individuals, families, schools and communities.
Because while your sunflower is growing, something else is growing too.
While you grow a sunflower, you’re helping someone grow confidence on a bike.
🌻 Why Sunflowers?
Sunflowers are more than just bright and beautiful.
They are part of our identity at Sunny Cycles, and they are also a recognised symbol of hidden disabilities - representing inclusion, understanding and support. When we were designing our logo we knew we wanted to have the sunflower in it.
Not every disability is visible.
Not every barrier is obvious.
But together, we can create spaces where everyone feels seen, supported and able to take part.

For many of our riders, Sunny Cycles is more than an activity - it’s a community.
I never thought I’d be able to ride a bike - now I come three times a week.

Petal Power isn’t about having the tallest sunflower.
It’s about growing something together.
From windowsills to gardens, schools to care homes - every sunflower planted is part of a shared story across our community.
And when August comes, we celebrate that growth together.
