Story
Hi, my name is Peter and I’m a volunteer with Mind in Kingston, where I’ve supported the Advice & Information Line and Buddy Scheme for the past 3½ years.
In summer 2026, I’m taking on an incredible challenge – the Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swim in Istanbul, a 6.5km open-water event that crosses from Asia to Europe through one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes (closed just for the race!).
This will be my second fundraiser for Mind in Kingston, following my 5K swim in Lake Windermere in 2023. I’m also taking part in additional events this year including the King of the Thames and the Thames Half Marathon, all to support this cause.
Swimming has always been a passion of mine – I’ve previously completed an English Channel relay raising funds for charity – and I’m excited to push myself again for a cause that means a lot to me.
Mind in Kingston provides vital mental health support locally, and I’ve seen first-hand the difference their services make.
Any donation, no matter the size, would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
