In Memoriam: Peter Waghorn, MBE

7th February 1933 16th January 2023

Peter Waghorn, who was chairman of Welwyn Wheelers Cycling Club and promoter of Welwyn Track League for 50 years, passed away peacefully earlier this month. A private cremation took place on 2 February, and a Celebration of Life was held on 6 February at The View, in Welwyn Garden City.

Peter was held in great affection and respect by cyclists and other sportspeople, far and wide. We are collecting donations to erect a bench, engraved in Peters memory, alongside his beloved velodrome at Gosling Sports Park. Any surplus from this Appeal will be used in support of a Memorial track Race to take place in Summer 2023.
