Pew Bibles

We’re placing small, hardcover green NRSV bibles in our pews at St Bene’t’s, which will be out all the time for visitors to read when they come to church to pray. Thank you for contributing towards the cost of this project — any amount is welcome!

Prayer remains at our heart, as we seek to respond to the God who in Christ has already reached out to find us. There are daily services at St Bene’t’s, and it is open every day for people to visit and explore the history of the church and find stillness and peace in the midst of a busy city.

Story

We’re placing small, hardcover green NRSV bibles in our pews at St Bene’t’s, which will be out all the time for visitors to read when they come to church to pray. Thank you for contributing towards the cost of this project — any amount is welcome. If you’d like to make your gift in memory or honour of someone, please put that information in message box as you are paying. A book plate will be placed in one of the bibles.

FAQ:

What if someone takes a bible home? Then there will be much rejoicing in heaven! We’re purchasing bibles that are not too expensive, both so that they fit easily on the pew rails and to make it easy for someone to bring home a copy of Scripture if they need one. We will replace any missing bibles from time to time. If you are aware that a dedication is missing, let us know and we will put a new bookplate in the replacement bible.

How much should I give? Any amount is welcome; thank you! If we raise more than is needed, the excess will go towards supporting our other ministries at St Bene’t’s. The Bibles are currently on sale at £5 each, although that price is likely to go up.
