PGR is more than a dog rescue, not only do we rescue and rehabilitate and re-home dogs, we work with owners helping them keep their dogs. PGR has a rescue retreat where people can come and stay to get the help they need, that can be with training, education or attending various events.

Story

PGRS 2022 CHALLENGE HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!

PGR CHALLENGE ORKNEY

We all know how difficult the last few years have been and this year is even harder, everyone is struggling including our much needed rescue and vital services we offer. We desperately need your support to help us keep going, be it by donation, shares etc.

Our crazy team this year are.. of course our much loved PGR Ambassador Dogs, Daniel and March. They will be accompanied by Carol our PGR Founder and Owner, Annie our amazing young animal whisperer & volunteer and also the wonderful Pam from Pams Poochie Parlour.

Our challenge starts on the 24th Sept 2022, when we take the ferry over to Orkney and straight away we will do our 1st challenge, a Sea Swim at Birsay Bay where the North Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean BBBBBBRRRRRRRRR.. !

On the 25th/26th Sept we travel to the Island of Hoy where we will be totally wild camping! Heres hoping its not too cold! We will walk to the Old Man Of Hoy, Rackwick Beach and then the Berriedale Valley Walk. The dogs are really going to be tired as well as us adults! But we will keep going!

On the 27th Sept we will Kayak the Boardhouse Loch and then its onto our bikes where we will mountain bike to Birsay to the Whalebone where our challenge officially ends!

Hopefully Daniel and March wont insist on having a chew on the Whalebones!!

On the 28th September we depart beautiful Orkney to head home to PGR HQ.

Our Challenge this year is a difficult one indeed and each of us will have to face our own fears and worries throughout it all. We will be tired, cold and exhausted but we will complete this challenge. All we ask of you is to follow us daily on our main Perthshire Gundog Rescue Scio page for our updates and check ins along the way and support us by donating whatever you can, share our challenge Justgiving link and tell everyone about us!

You are all amazing and your continued support is PAWSOME! Thankyou everyone!
