As part of PHG's charity work in Africa. We are building a Masjid in Sierra Leone for a needy community. There is no adequate place of worship for Muslims in this area to pray their daily 5 prayers and congregate for Jummah on weekly basis.
With the funds raised through this campaign, we are aiming to build a Masjid for this community.
The first thing the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did after migrating to Madinah was, build a masjid.
The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), said: Whoever builds a Masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.
Extreme poverty leads to hunger in Africa. Nearly a quarter of the hungry in the world live in Africa. One-fifth of people living in Africa are considered malnourished. Over 30 per cent of African children suffer from growth disorders such as stunting due to their chronic malnutrition.
You might be thinking after these figures why do we need to build a masjid in Africa, why dont we just give food.
Alhamdulillah, Unite 4 Humanity has carried out a lot of charity work in Africa. We have built water wells, build orphanages, schools and distributed food amongst thousands of families.
