Story

In 2021 Picturehouse is proud to continue to support Refuge, our amazing charity partner, who help women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Our ongoing partnership will see all 26 Picturehouse Cinemas collectively raise funds to support the vital work of this national charity.

Domestic abuse is the biggest issue affecting women and children in our society today. It affects one in four women at some point in their lives and around 800,000 children every year. We have already raised over £50,000 for Refuge and want to double this amount with a fundraising target of £50,000 over the next two years .This amounts to the equivalent of 962 nights in emergency refuge accommodation.

Each one of our cinema teams is coming up with ingenious ways to help us reach our target. From holding quizzes, hosting bake sales and life drawing classes, to making sure everyone knows about our company-wide incentives. These include rounding up till purchases to the nearest pound, a 10p donation that we give to Refuge for every cup of tea sold, a text to donate option to donate £5 by texting HOUSE to 70730, or simply making a donation in the cinema.

Check back here to see what great activities our Picturehouse teams have rustled up! You can help us reach our target by donating directly to this page to help us reach our goal. Well make even the smallest donations go a long way to support the crucial work of Refuge.
