Help Us Keep the Woods Full of Song!
Since 2011, we’ve installed 420 bird boxes across the reserve and nearby woodland — transforming the area into a thriving haven for wildlife. In 2015, the first pied flycatchers bred here, and today the site supports more territories than anywhere else in South Yorkshire!
The boxes also provide vital homes for redstarts, nuthatches, as well as many great tits and blue tits. Visitors often comment on the incredible bird activity during the breeding season — a direct result of this long-running scheme.
But after years of service, many of our boxes now need replacing. To keep the project going strong, we’re aiming to raise funds for 20 new boxes — ensuring this woodland chorus continues for years to come.
Every donation helps keep the woods alive with birdsong.
