🌈 Adventure Buddies Pier to Pier Rainbow Walk & Push 🌈

🌈 Support Adventure Buddies as we walk and wheel from Boscombe Pier to Bournemouth Pier on 13th June. Raising funds for inclusive activities and adventures for children with PMLD, wheelchair users, siblings and families across Dorset. πŸ’™

The Dorset Children's Foundation was set up in 2013 with the sole purpose of helping improve the lives of sick and disabled children. All our overheads are covered by our charity shops and online sales. Every penny you donate via JustGiving goes directly to your chosen cause.

Story

Adventure Buddies is a group set up in partnership with the Dorset Children's Foundation for school-aged children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), their parents, carers and siblings.

Children attending the group are wheelchair users or have limited mobility and require the use of a wheelchair on a daily basis.

The aim of Adventure Buddies is simple – to reduce isolation, create friendships and provide fun, inclusive experiences for families who often face significant barriers to accessing activities.

Each month we meet at The DCF's premises The Windmill in Boscombe for organised sessions including sensory experiences, music and movement activities, dance sessions and other engaging activities tailored to our children's needs. We also arrange social outings such as ice skating, bowling, farm visits and other family-friendly adventures, giving families the opportunity to make memories together in a welcoming and understanding environment.

As a new group, funding is limited. We keep costs as affordable as possible, while actively seeking sponsorship and fundraising support to help more families take part.

To help raise funds, we're taking on a colourful challenge!

🌈 Pier to Pier Rainbow Walk & Push

Saturday 13th June | 12 noon

Our Adventure Buddies families will be walking, wheeling and pushing from Boscombe Pier to Bournemouth Pier dressed as a rainbow. Children will wear different colours, with wheelchairs decorated in ribbons, and colourful head boppers encouraged!

We want to celebrate the joy, resilience and individuality of our amazing children while raising funds to help Adventure Buddies continue to grow and thrive.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help us provide inclusive activities, subsidise outings and create opportunities for disabled children and their families to connect, have fun and feel supported.

Thank you for helping us make a difference. πŸ’™

Please donate and share our page to help Adventure Buddies shine brightly across Dorset. 🌈✨
