We are appealing for funds to fence a new area for our pigs.
Giving our residents enough space so they can express natural behaviors, run, play and sleep is really important to us at the sanctuary.
Pigs are very intelligent and highly sociable animals and since we have been rescuing them they have shown us they like to spend their time foraging, rooting, making nests out of twigs and old grass and in the summer they wallow in mud to keep themselves cool. They also scratch on tree stumps and shade under the trees. We are very lucky to have a beautiful two acre area of mixed woods and pasture which would be ideal for our little pigs to live in. It will provide stimulation, rooting, a wet area for wallowing and trees for shade, we just need to fence it. The cost is £2208.
Its 230 metres at £9.60 per metre. Please pledge a metre for our new area. Our existing areas can then be rested and re used for other animals and more rescues. Ideally we would like our piggies in by spring.
