Story
In May this year, the month of Mary, we will be taking students on the Archdiocese of Birmingham's annual diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes in France, where in 1858, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared eighteen times in the grotto to Saint Bernadette Soubirous, a fourteen-year-old peasant girl. Our Lady instructed Bernadette to dig in the ground nearby, from which came a spring with healing powers, active to this day. Our Lady instructed Saint Bernadette to bring people to the springs so they could benefit from its properties.
On this week-long pilgrimage, students will be working in a hospital ward with sick pilgrims; caring for them and keeping them company. Students will also be able to meet other pilgrims from all over the world, fill bottles of holy water from the springs of Lourdes to bring back to our school community and will have the opportunity to grow in their faith and spirituality.
The pilgrimage to Lourdes is a life-changing event, and one that the students will carry with them for the rest of their lives. To give them this experience, we are relying on fundraising and donations. If you are in a position to make a donation, please help our students make their way to Lourdes.
