Story

Together as a community let's paint the town pink for October Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) is a locally based not-for-profit that is entirely funded by the local community. Thanks to the local support of the Hunter, HBCF provides essential services to families as they journey through breast cancer. These services include everything from a wig library, private transport, cleaning, lawn maintenance, education scholarships and more.

Our clients are local Hunter families who are currently going through treatment for breast cancer. The Newcastle community has rallied around HBCF and run fun and successful community fundraisers for over 20 years to fund these programs. However when COVID-19 hit, these fundraisers all stopped. The need for breast cancer support only grew. We now have more families requesting support than ever before.

We need your help!

During the month of July 2021, HBCF provided 338 support services to Hunter families battling breast cancer, this cost over $30,000. All funds raised go in and straight back out again. Every little bit counts to help HBCF continue to support our Hunter families.

So check in with your staff, colleagues or boss and plan to pink up your workplace! This could be anything from organising a fundraising selling a certain products and donating a % to HBCF, promote pink cocktails for the month for breast cancer to raise funds, a virtual catch up with staff and wearing pink and donate, create an exercise target as a team and start raising funds, purchase merchandise from our online shop, host a virtual breakfast or lunch, the options are endless. Start organising a day to get involved during October breast cancer awareness month.

Business teams can get in touch with HBCF to receive their digital pink pack to show your support for HBCF and go pink!

The digital pink pack includes: digital "Supporting local families through breast cancer" image to display on email signature and website for the month of October, receive a case study and client video to send to all employees to boost workplace culture, a post on HBCF's website and dedicated social media post + social media tiles to post throughout the month to show your support and help create awareness.

So get talking to your boss and colleagues and go pink this October!

Create your fundraising page through this campaign, we will be in touch to send your digital pink pack as well as support you and your fundraiser any way we can.
