Pinkie Vet Appointments

Raising funds to help cover Pinkie's vet appointments, which can quickly grow, especially as they are a reptile.

Closes 01/10/2025

We are a registered charity in the UK, run entirely by volunteers. We specialise in small and medium-sized reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. We provide a safe home for abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in-need animals. While many of our rescues are rehomed, those unsuitable for rehoming will be cared for by us for life.

Story

Little Pinkie has had a challenging start to life. They arrived at the rescue after their previous owner tried everything, including multiple vet appointments, to help with the built-up shed in their eyes. It took time, knowledge, and veterinary care to address these issues. We were just beginning to consider upgrading Pinkie’s vivarium since they hadn't experienced any further shedding problems, and their sight had returned.

However, last night (the 5th), during feeding time, Pinkie was discovered with injuries on both sides of their body, with no indication of how the injuries occurred. The wounds were fresh, and Pinkie had been seen healthy earlier in the day. Following this incident, we immediately sprayed Pinkie with Leucillin and moved them into a quarantine vivarium for proper care. We have been checking on Pinkie regularly.

We are raising funds to help cover the costs of the treatment Pinkie will require. Our rescue is a small operation run by two people, and we do not have regular donations. We are simply getting by by working overtime at our full-time jobs. Given the high costs of living, we understand that many people are counting their pennies, so any amount contributed through this fundraiser or via our PayPal would be greatly appreciated. Please remember to look after yourself first. Thank you!

Update so far appointments have cost £540. Two further appointments the week of 22nd due to this we are extending the date of the campaign.
