We use cutting-edge technology to find, remove, disrupt and prevent child sexual abuse on the internet. We help make the internet a safer place for children & adults globally. No child should suffer repeated abuse and victimisation by having recordings of their abuse shared online again and again.

Story

Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) are the leading tech charity working globally to eliminate child sexual abuse images & videos from the internet.

Pinsent Masons are excited to announce the return of our fundraising competition to support the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).

Internet Watch Foundation's work is hugely important, and we have launched 'Move for a Safer Internet' to raise vital funds and awareness to combat online child sexual abuse.

For four weeks this September, teams from Pinsent Masons and across the cyber community are logging every minute of movement — walking, running, cycling, swimming (and more!) — to raise vital funds for IWF.

Why minutes? Because every minute matters. On average, every 80 seconds the IWF assesses a webpage, and every 114 seconds their analysts find child sexual abuse content. Our challenge is a reminder that each minute of effort helps fight this global issue.

IWF has provided some compelling statistics on how your fundraising can make a difference:

• £50 could pay for the IWF to ‘hash’ images of child sexual abuse, preventing them from being shared or uploaded to the internet.

• £100 could pay for the IWF to issue several ‘Takedown Notices’ to companies hosting child sexual abuse imagery preventing repeat victimisation every time images of their abuse are viewed or shared online.

• £250 could pay for two of the IWF’s Hotline analysts to have counselling sessions, part of the IWF’s duty of care to help ensure they cope with the horror of what they witness in the nature of their work.

• £10,000+ could pay for prevention campaigns to help stop children becoming victims in the first place and to provide support and guidance to parents and carers to help keep their children safe online.

We are hugely grateful for any donation to help IWF’s vision to create an Internet free from child sexual abuse.

Let’s come together as a cyber community and make a difference.
