Story
For more than a decade, Pionero Philanthropy has worked alongside nonprofits across the country. We have mapped more than 8,430 organizations and accredited 50 through a rigorous process that helps them become stronger, more transparent, and better prepared to serve.
The organizations we work with describe that support in ways that speak for themselves:
What once felt overwhelming became clear, simple, and possible.
We feel part of a more connected, stronger, and more supportive nonprofit community.
We found direction and confidence to better respond to the needs of our communities.
Our work is informed by international best practices, including frameworks from UNICEF and the OECD. We are also part of Charity Monitoring Worldwide and hold consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), bringing global standards into local communities in Guatemala.
Through Pionero’s guidance, donors are able to support organizations with greater confidence and clarity. In the first quarter of 2026, more than $70,000 USD was allocated to nonprofits in Guatemala through donations we advised, helping ensure that funds reached credible, community-based organizations working where they are needed most. This is part of how we help build trust and strengthen the flow of effective giving.
We must raise this funding by May 30. If we do not, we will not be able to continue offering free accompaniment and strengthening services to more organizations this year. The nonprofits we support do not have room in their budgets for this kind of institutional support because their resources are already dedicated to serving their communities.
Instead of supporting just one cause, your donation helps strengthen many organizations at once—so they can serve with more trust, stronger systems, and longer-lasting impact.
When you strengthen the people doing the work, you strengthen everything they make possible.
U.S. donors can make tax-deductible contributions.
