The Peter Jones Foundation (PJF) was founded in 2005 by entrepreneur and well-known business investor, Peter Jones CBE. Our mission is to improve the socio-economic outcomes for young people by equipping them with enterprise skills that will improve their life chances, whatever path they choose. This walk was inspired by some of our Youth Panel, supporters, donors and staff as a novel way to raise a little bit more funding to reach our 2023-24 Strategic Goals! Please consider donating or indeed joining our walkers for either the 31 miles or 62 miles challenge: partnerships@pjfoundation.org.
We achieve our mission through a range of educational activities that encourage, educate and empower students.
+We encourage students to form their first business and compete with teams either locally or nationally through our flagship enterprise competition, Tycoon (available from primary school through to post-16).
+We educate students through our suite of accredited courses and qualifications in Business, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship developed with Pearson, at Level 2 and Level 3, through the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy (PJEA).
+We empower all of our graduates by supporting them into one of three successful pathways: starting a business (with access to start-up funding), gaining employment or securing a place at university.
We believe in transforming the lives of children and young people by creating opportunities for them to learn, grow and develop. We recognise that we are helping to create the next generation; people who will go on to be the problem-solvers of tomorrow in vital areas such as medicine, politics, technology, law, the arts etc.
As Peter says:
To progress we must have new ideas; ideas that come from young people from all walks of life.
