To mark International PKU Day 2026, we are launching the NSPKU Research Fund.

International PKU Day commemorates the birthdays of two pioneers whose work transformed the lives of people with PKU: Dr Robert Guthrie, who developed newborn screening for PKU, and Dr Horst Bickel, who led the development of the first dietary treatment.

Their discoveries changed countless lives. Today, we want to build on that legacy by funding the next generation of PKU research.
