Playground improvement fund

Blackhall Primary School has ambitious plans to redevelop its playground.
Blackhall Primary School has ambitious plans to redevelop its playground.
As you may know, the school playing field is in a very poor state and is currently unusable during the winter months.
The school is ambitious about its plans to redevelop this area. However, the cost of redeveloping the whole field is very high.
The school is therefore proposing to redevelop two smaller sections of the field in order to improve the playing space for the children while more money can be raised for the wider field to a longer timescale.
The two smaller sections are marked in red and blue on the picture below. Each area will cost approximately £13,000 to develop. Our aim is to do one of these by the end of the school year and one later on in the calendar year.
There are no existing school or Council budgets to do this. The Parent Staff Association (PSA) and Parent Carer Council (PCC) are making contributions. There are also some grants which have been applied for BUT there will still be a shortfall. This is where our school community comes in!!
We need your help to raise £5,000 as soon as possible in order to redevelop at least one of the areas (and to continue the fundraising throughout the year for the other one).
This is a great opportunity to work together as a school community to improve our children’s experience at school. £5,000 is approximately £12.50 per pupil so hopefully with some creative ideas, sponsored events and Blackhall enthusiasm we can get to our initial target before too long!
