At The Crossley Heath School, our House system (Savile, Kings, Queens and Porter) has always played a vital role in shaping our students’ experience, giving them a sense of pride, identity and purpose. From Sports Days and competitions to charity drives and school events, the House spirit brings out the very best in our pupils.

In recent years, the impact of the pandemic disrupted that shared spirit — but now, our House system is back at its best and stronger than ever. To build on this renewed momentum, we want to introduce giant House mascot costumes to represent each of our Houses in a fun, visual and engaging way.

Each House will have its own themed mascot:

🦈 Savile's Shark

🦁 Kings' Lion

🐝 Queens' Bee

🦆 Porter's Duck

These giant costumes will appear at sports days, house competitions, school celebrations and charity events, boosting morale, encouraging friendly competition and giving students a unique sense of belonging.

We need to raise £500 per House to pay for each costume, and we’re challenging students, families, alumni and the wider community to help fund their House mascot. Whether you can give £1 or £10, every donation makes a difference and will go directly toward bringing these characters to life.

We’ve upped the targets slightly so we can aim even higher and secure the very best mascots possible, ones that will be bold, brilliant, and a real source of pride, identity and motivation for our students.

Even if your house has hit its target, please don’t stop! Extra funds will go towards other house activities - from celebration prizes to resources that bring our house system to life.
