Story

Help us raise money to transform our school playground!

Portfield School is a specialist school in Christchurch for children aged 3-19 with autism, run by charity Autism Wessex. Throughout this year, we have been working with our Therapists, Students and Autism Wessex Staff to redesign the Inner Quad Playground used by our students.

Our current playground is no longer fit for purpose, and is severely rundown. It was built with the school back in 2001, and has not been updated since.

We know that children with autism benefit from being outdoors and from creative and sensory play, and we want to create a space that will encourage educational learning through play.

We have raised the money to complete all the safety flooring, however, we need help to raise the money for the main focal point in the playground - the equipment!

This equipment has been chosen to support the sensory requirements of the students it will help with stretching and reaching, core stability and balance and social interactions.

To support this appeal, our staff are hosting a fundraising week at Portfield School to raise money, but we need your support!

Please give anything you can to help our dream become a reality for the incredible students we support at Portfield School.
