Portpatrick Community Resilience Hub

Portpatrick Harbour CBS, Community Council, Lifeboat and Coastguard and their volunteers have come together to form an emergency Resilience Hub Team providing vital support to the community in response to COVID-19. Please help us fund this service.

Formed in 2015 PHCBS became the first Community Benefit Society in Scotland to achieve FCA registration and full charitable status with OSCR. After raising funding through Community Shares it secured the purchase of the historic harbour into community ownership the same year.

Story

The Portpatrick Community Resilience Hub team comprises the four main voluntary organisations in the community of Portpatrick. These have been brought together by Portpatrick Harbour Community Benefit Society a registered charity regulated by OSCR and the FCA and include the elected Portpatrick Community Council and its members, the committee and volunteers of the RNLI Portpatrick Lifeboat and the volunteers of HM Coastguard Portpatrick. Together we are delivering a united team response to the effects of COVID-19 on the community and residents of Portpatrick. The coordinated response is operated from the Harbour Hub and its dedicated Helpline and delivered by its Team of volunteers daily. To date this has been entirely funded by the Teams own financial resources and donations from local businesses but in order to maintain this through the crisis we now need your help. If you can help by donating any amount we can assure you that ALL contributions will go directly to continuing this essential service. Thankyou.
