Postcards from the Peaks
Postcards from the Peaks is a nationwide campaign carrying a cast iron Royal Mail postbox to the highest point in all 15 UK national parks to raise awareness of loneliness and celebrate the power of community.
The walks are free to join because everyone should be able to experience the outdoors without barriers. So far, over 200 people have joined the walks. Along the way, we have sent more than 500 postcards to people who are lonely, isolated or vulnerable. I have also taken the postbox into schools and facilitated postcard exchanges between pupils, creating powerful connections between communities.
This is a deeply personal project. I created it as part of my own recovery from loneliness and from both mental and physical health challenges. To make it possible I have taken a sabbatical and have been self-financing the costs so far.
There are still essential costs to cover. These include printing and posting the postcards, bursaries to help people access the walks, the costs of organising and hosting events, and running the website and online forms that keep everything connected.
Your donation will help keep the walks and postcards free, support more people to take part, and ensure Postcards from the Peaks continues to grow and create meaningful connections across the country.
Thank you so much,
Stu
