THE POWER OF TOGETHERNESS
I feel a sense of belonging. A place I can go to and Im a part of. I feel accepted and loved.
For many of us, Christmas is a time to come together with our families, our friends and in our communities.
This Christmas, will you celebrate the power of togetherness by donating to our community at Room to Heal?
Our community is made up of people from 36 countries who have survived torture, trafficking and organised violence, and sought asylum in the UK.
Facing an increasingly hostile environment, members of our community often find themselves in crisis, feeling isolated, hopeless and at times suicidal. Day after day our members are battling to get their basic needs met.
We provide a safe space for people to begin to recover - through group therapy, support with asylum claims and housing, and group activities, from our weekly community meal to gardening, retreats and days out.
It makes me feel good when I'm with different people. They give me hope.
In our most recent survey of our community members, 96% of respondents said their mental health had improved as a direct result of being part of Room to Heal.
Room to Heal community's care and support helps me to recover from past traumatic experiences and also from day-to-day anxiety and stress. Thank you.
We recognise the cost of living crisis is hitting us all this year. Any donation you can afford will help build the warmth of togetherness through the coming year.
£10 could bring people together by paying for members' travel fares to attend a group therapy session
£20 could buy a fleece jacket to keep warm during the winter months
£50 could bring people together for a nourishing community meal, reducing feelings of loneliness
Please donate today to help our members feel the power of community and togetherness in 2023.
