Story

Powering Positive Impact

At Powwow Events, we're not just in the business of creating extraordinary event experiences – we're in the business of acting as a force for good. Our passion for positive impact drives everything we do, and now we're taking that passion to the streets (literally!) to support the incredible work of Future First.

The entire Powwow team are coming together on 18 of October 2024 to tackle the 15-mile Green Link walk. That’s 8 hours of walking, spanning 5 boroughs, 40 areas of green space and several waterways across London. It is no small stroll.

So why are we doing it?

Bridging the Social Mobility Gap with Future First

The UK is facing a social mobility crisis. Too many young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds are being left behind, their potential untapped and their dreams out of reach. We believe every child deserves a fair shot at a bright future, regardless of their postcode or family income. Not only that, but we want to open the doors to the events industry and give greater visibility to the incredible opportunities and experiences that can be found within our sector.

That's why we're lacing up our walking shoes and hitting the pavement for a sponsored walk. We're raising money sure, but we're also raising awareness and hope.

Every step we take is a step towards:

- Closing the opportunity gap

- Providing greater visibility for underprivileged youth

- Supporting Future First's vital work in schools and communities

- Sponsoring our very own school in our local community, providing that school and their young people with meaningful encounters through workshops, insight days, mentoring, resources and more

- Promoting the opportunities available in the events industry and how to access them

Why Future First?

Future First is a game-changer in the world of education and social mobility. They connect underprivileged school students with alumni role models, opening doors to careers and opportunities that might otherwise seem out of reach. By partnering with Future First, we're helping to create a future where a child's background doesn't determine their destiny.

Join Our Journey

We're putting our money (and our feet!) where our mouth is. But we can't do it alone. Here's how you can help:

- Sponsor our walk: Every pound counts towards creating life-changing opportunities and will enable us to sponsor a school in our local community. Our target is £3,000.

- Spread the word: Share our campaign and help us make some noise about this crucial issue.

- Follow along with us: We’ll be sharing our journey across our socials, so make sure you are following us on Instagram and LinkedIn.

Together, We Can Make a Difference

At Powwow Events, we believe in the power of coming together to create positive change. This sponsored walk is more than just a fundraiser – it's a statement. It's our way of saying that we refuse to accept the status quo, and we're committed to building a more equitable future for all and creating a more diverse and inclusive future for the events industry.

Let's take these steps together and show the next generation that their dreams are within reach. Because when we invest in our youth, we invest in a brighter future for everyone.
