Right now, over one million people in the U.S. live in conditions of modern slavery. Hundreds of thousands of those people are victims of sexual exploitation, most of whom are women and girls.
The rise of online recruitment, fuelled by social media and the online porn industry, has driven sex trafficking to unprecedented levels. Deepening economic inequalities and increasing political polarization are weakening protections for women and girls, leaving them more vulnerable to exploitation. Without urgent intervention, these factors will continue to push more women and girls into the hands of traffickers.
With the number of victims rising year on year, the time for intervention is now, and the best intervention is preventative.
STOP THE TRAFFIK has developed geo-targeted digital programs that disrupt trafficking networks and protect vulnerable individuals before they are exploited. We equip at-risk communities with critical safety information and direct support—often in moments of desperate need.
Over the last 8 years, we’ve delivered 50+ prevention programs across 4 continents, reaching over 28 million at-risk people. Now, we’re ready to scale this impact across the U.S.
