Currently we have no shaded area in our playground. During the hotter months we have to limit the time our children spend on the playground. By providing a shaded area we can allow our children to spend more time on the playground on hot days and also keep them safe.

We plan to have picnic benches in the area so our children will also be able to use this area for outdoor learning. Research has suggested that outdoor learning boosts confidence, social skills, communication, motivation, physical skills, knowledge and understanding. It has also been found to boost children's self-esteem, self-confidence, ability to work cooperatively and positive attitude to learning.

Finally the markings on our playground all need updating, the money raised will also go towards new markings giving our children the opportunity to play some traditional games Such as Hopscotch.
