Story

Our Wenceslas Project identifies people in fuel poverty and helps them stay warm.

We identify those in particular need through referrals from the Citizens Advice Bureau, Christians Against Poverty and other charities involved in helping those in the community. All donations are deposited in a ring-fenced account dedicated to helping households keep warm and fed during these challenging times. Fuel bills are paid direct to the energy providers to ensure the funds are used for the purpose intended, so you can rest assured of good housekeeping on our part.

Since Wenceslas Project started, we have helped over 200 households to keep the lights on and stay warm, we expect even greater demand this year.

About the charity

Raising over £30,000 annually, the Leatherhead Lions are dedicated to helping the less fortunate by supporting local and other charities and providing service, assistance and funds for those in need. Unlike many other charities we are all volunteers and use absolutely none of the money for salaries.
