In 2024 Propp and Firmitas Financial Services will be supporting WellChild and their work helping seriously ill children across the UK.
Over the year, staff and volunteers from Propp and Firmitas Financial Services are raising funds to help support WellChild’s vital work.
More than 100,000 children and young people are living across the UK with serious health needs. Many spend months, even years in hospital simply because there is no support enabling them to leave. Meanwhile, those at home are constantly challenged by inconsistent and inadequate levels of support.
Through a nationwide network of childrens nurses, garden transformation projects, and family training and support services, WellChild exists to give this growing population of children and young people the best chance to thrive properly supported at home, together with their families.
Propp and Firmitas Financial Services are raising funds to support the charities vital work and will be getting hands on creating the charities largest garden transformation yet. In an existing unused and overgrown space of approximately 200m2, a team of volunteers will be creating both a sensory garden and a memorial space for the Mary Rose Academy in Portsmouth in just one week.
The Mary Rose Academy is a Special Educational Needs School for pupils 2-19 years old, and they currently have 181 students. They provide a highly specialist, personalised curriculum for young people with the most profound, severe and complex learning difficulties. The majority of pupils have co-occurring needs including Autism Spectrum Condition, severe physical disabilities and highly complex medical conditions. Their vision is to empower the community, within and beyond Mary Rose to achieve great things; experience awe and wonder and to have their voices heard, now for the future.
