Story
We strive to provide the very best horse care at Mane Chance. Much of this involves managing ongoing illnesses and conditions, some of it involves dealing with the unexpected and the rest involves thinking further ahead and protecting our herds against disease and infection.
This year, we have faced quite a lot of the unexpected when it comes to our horses and despite different treatments, have sadly had to say goodbye to three of our horses in the past few months. Consequently, it follows that we have had a bit of an expensive time with the vet this year already and our budget has taken a big hit.
Of course, we generally don’t know what is around the corner when it comes to veterinary expenses and we do try to have enough in the pot for the inevitable rainy days that we will face. However, we weren’t quite expecting three rainy days to come at once as they did…..
We are therefore putting out an appeal for some help to get us back on track. All of our horses have annual vaccinations to protect against tetanus and flu. With 35 horses, it is always a considerable expense, but as with everything, the cost of each vaccination has risen yet again and the bill is going to be bigger than ever before.
If we were able to raise the money to cover the costs of the injections, it would really put our vet expenses back on track. Each vaccination costs £48 so the total cost of protecting our entire herd is going to be £1680.
We would be grateful if you could consider helping us reach this target. If a number of people gave us £10, then it would soon fund one horse, then more….. And you would be assured that your donation would go directly towards paying for the vaccinations themselves and know that you have played a big part in making sure our horses are up to date with their protection.
Thank you in advance for anything you can give to this appeal – we are so grateful and hope you don’t mind us asking directly – we just would really appreciate your help with this important task. The thoughts of how quickly flu could spread across our herds or the consequences of tetanus are too horrible to contemplate so we just need to make sure that we are covered all round and just need a little Mane Chance help to do it.
Thank you!
