This exciting development will be completed in two phases:
Phase 1:
• Two brand-new changing rooms, providing much needed additional space for all sections of the club. These changing rooms will not only benefit the entire club when required, but also offer dedicated facilities for our women’s and girls’ team.
• Solar panels and battery storage installed on the roof, reducing our significant energy costs and securing the club’s future with sustainable energy.
Phase 2:
• An indoor training facility, allowing strength and conditioning training, plus indoor drills, no matter the weather.
• A new waste treatment plant, ensuring our facilities are modern, sustainable, and fit for purpose.
Why is this important?
This extension will benefit all sections of the club—from Minis to Seniors, including our growing women’s and girls' teams. The new changing rooms will reduce pressure on existing facilities, allowing more matches and training sessions to run concurrently, whilst providing much needed dedicated changing spaces, when required, for the women’s and girls’ teams, as opposed to changing in the cold, outdated, shipping containers. The indoor training facility will offer year-round training, enabling our players to stay sharp even during the winter months. With the addition of solar panels and battery storage, we are investing in the long-term sustainability of Pulborough Rugby Football Club, reducing costs and future-proofing our operations.
Our Funding Target The total budget for the project is £450,000, and we have already worked hard behind the scenes to secure:
• £100,000 from the club’s savings
• £150,000 RFU loan
Including our repayment of the RFU loan, we are funding 55% of the project ourselves, putting us in a solid position. However, we still need to raise £200,000 to complete both phases.
We Need Your Help! Our goal is to break ground on Phase 1 in the 1st quarter of 2025. When next at the club you will see that the pre-commencement works are already underway, meaning we are in a great position to hit this goal.
