Pull up a chair for someone on their own this Christmas
Christmas is a time when many of us come together. We pull up extra chairs, share food, swap stories and spend time with the people who matter to us. But for someone experiencing loneliness or isolation, Christmas can make being on your own feel even harder.
This Christmas, you can help someone feel there is a place for them.
By donating to Together Co, you can help people across Brighton and Hove build meaningful, dependable connections. It might start with something as simple as a cup of tea, a friendly conversation, someone who listens, or a warm welcome into a local group.
Will you pull up a chair for someone this Christmas?

A regular conversation became a lifeline
Every other week, David knows Nicola will call.
When *David, 55, first came to Together Co, he was extremely lonely. He had no family around him and many of his friends had moved on.
We matched him with *Nicola, a volunteer befriender. Every two weeks they speak on the phone, chatting about films, places they have visited and what is happening in their lives.
These conversations may sound ordinary. But to David, they have meant so much more.
He describes befriending as “a real lifeline” and says the calls have made “a big difference” to his life. He thanked Nicola and Together Co for “keeping the darkness out of our lives”.
Their friendship has made a difference to Nicola too, reminding her of the power a simple conversation can have in helping someone feel connected.

Your donation can create connection
Your gift can help us recruit, train and support volunteer befrienders, create new friendship matches, bring people together and connect people with activities and support in their communities.
It can also help us make Christmas feel a little warmer.
Every year, our volunteers pack and hand-deliver 250 personalised Winter Hampers, filled with winter essentials, festive treats and a personal message. For many recipients, it is the only gift or visit they will receive over the festive period.

Donations also help fund our Winter Warmer, bringing 160 local people together for Christmas lunch, music and entertainment. For some, it is the highlight of their festive season.
What your gift could make possible
Every donation can help someone feel less alone:
* £10 could provide five hours of telephone befriending.
* £25 could help someone enjoy weekly visits from their befriender for a month.
* £40 could help train and support a new volunteer befriender.
* £110 could help create and support a new friendship match.
* £225 could bring 30 people together at a welcoming social event.

Last year, Together Co supported 3,006 people across Brighton and Hove, and 94% of people with befrienders said it had a positive impact on their wellbeing.
But too many people are still missing the everyday connections that help us feel part of something.
Will you pull up a chair?
A friendly phone call, a regular visit, an invitation to join in, someone remembering your name and asking how you are. Small moments of connection can mean so much.
Please donate today and pull up a chair for someone experiencing loneliness or isolation in Brighton and Hove.
Your gift could help someone like David find a dependable connection, something to look forward to and a place where they feel they belong.
The connection you to help create could last long after Christmas.
