Push backs are illegal, they are deadly, they have no place in a humane society.

Unfortunately the Greek government continues to perform push backs on a sometimes daily basis. They have begun to push back so many asylum-seekers that they may not even provide them with a life raft when they are abandoned in the middle of the Aegean Sea.

The Legal Centre Lesvos is one of the few organisations challenging this impunity. It is successfully bringing cases before the European Court of Human Rights to prevent the Greek authorities carrying out further push backs, and to make them answer for those they have already committed.
