Story

QBI Steps for Dementia Research is a peer-to-peer fundraising program where community members raise funds to support research at the Queensland Brain Institute.

Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia and the most common cause for women, affecting nearly 1 in 10 people over 65. There is currently no cure, but research at QBI is paving the way to potential treatments for millions worldwide.

From 22–26 October 2026, a group of trekkers will walk the Mornington Peninsular to raise funds for the Peter Hilton Alzheimer’s Research Endowment Fund, established by Robyn Hilton in memory of her husband Peter. This fund provides ongoing support for critical Alzheimer’s research, aiming to accelerate better treatments, earlier diagnosis, and ultimately a cure.

Your support ensures Peter’s legacy lives on and helps change the future of brain health. Every gift makes a difference.
