Story
In support of the annual Week of Activism that is observed between 23 – 30 September, we stand in solidarity with survivors on their journey of recovery from abuse.
Quetzal is a 30+ year old charity based in Leicester that has dedicated its services towards providing long term counselling and support to the female victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA).
We’re hosting Quetzal’s Week of Activism 2024 for the following reasons:
- to educate the public about the prevalence and impact of CSA and the importance of supporting survivors.
- to raise awareness about these needs, like free access to support of all survivors living in the LLR (Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland) region and beyond.
- to give local businesses, communities, organisations, and others the opportunity to host/participate in a wide range of events and activities that support survivors of CSA.
- to create a platform for survivors to share their stories and experiences, empowering others to seek help.
- to raise funds to expand and enhance the services offered to survivors
A vibrant array of events and activities, fuelled by our dedicated well-wishers and supporters, is currently unfolding until the end of September. As the grand finale of our Week of Activism 2024 campaign, we’re eagerly preparing to celebrate not just one, but two remarkable occasions at Quetzal’s Birthday Fundraiser Dinner at Cuisine of India.
Join us in supporting CSA survivors as part of Quetzal’s Week of Activism 2024 campaign, while also rejoicing in the joyous festivities of our charity’s 35th birthday.
