The next stage in our renovations of the former Capricorn Animal Rescue site is to have perfect spaces for rabbits and guinea pigs.

We have cleared the space, and chosen the perfect cabins for rabbits and guinea pigs. These cabins cost £750 each, and we hope to purchase six of them ASAP. Each cabin will be heated so that no guinea pig or rabbit is ever cold!

During 2020, we rescued 24 guinea pigs and 6 rabbits. We expect this number to be drastically higher in 2021 as we are seeing a huge number of these animals simply dumped due to the effect of the COVID 19 Pandemic, and people being unable to afford to care for their pets. Last week we admitted 6 guinea pigs that had been dumped in a local park, five of them are female and likely pregnant. This means that in a matter of weeks we could have up to 60 guinea pigs in our care.

Please help us to help them! Many animal charities are unable to assist with rabbits especially as they usually have huge vet bills on admission with neutering, vaccinations, microchips and almost always an expensive dental. They are then quite difficult to rehome as many people prefer to buy baby bunnies. We won't abandon them because of this and we will help them no matter the cost.
