We design and deliver a range of fun and engaging programmes to improve the lives of people of all ages and abilities throughout the county. Your donation can help enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of people and families, while bringing communities together through the power of cricket.

Story

Cricket changes lives. It can help a child discover confidence, enable a disabled person to find purpose, bring companionship to an older adult and connects people to their community.

Team GCF are taking the challenge to Race Across Glos and raise valuable funds to maintain the impact we are having in our communities across the range of our work. Whether it is supporting clubs to thrive and remain pillars of their community, improve current community cricket offers designed to create opportunities for young people, or create new sustainable cricket programmes that support wellbeing and health initiatives for community organisations to own and deliver, Race Across Glos will raise funds to improve lives through the power of cricket.

"As you get older, there’s more exams and stuff and you have to be able to believe in yourself. Cricket helps me with my mental health, and it really helps me with my self-esteem. It’s helped me believe in myself, which I think is a really important thing, especially when I’m leading people. Cricket has really helped me get to that place. If I didn’t play cricket, I wouldn’t be who I am today."

“All his life, and probably going into adulthood, he will need support but at cricket, generally he supports everybody that’s around him. So imagine being somewhere where you’re the one that’s able to support somebody else. It’s important to him to help others, and to have that opportunity for that to shine is so important for him, and for us as parents to see. I am indebted to you to give that to my child.”

“Since my wife died, I have found socialising difficult. Walking Cricket has been a lifeline for me, giving me a reason to leave the house and be sociable again. I don’t think I’d still be here if it wasn’t for Walking Cricket and the people I’ve met.”
