Story
Hii, I’m Rachel, a Geography teacher from a secondary school in Hull. As soon as term finishes at the end of July, I’ll be flying to Tanzania to embark on a solo seven day climb of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Yes, I know, I’m absolutely mad!
In total, I’ll be climbing for five days up the mountain and two days down with a bag full of day essentials. Luckily, tents are provided along the route!
I’ve been preparing with other walking and running challenges. In April I climbed Scafell Pike (in minus 10 degrees!), in May Half term I’ll be completing the Three Peaks and in June I’ll be taking part in the Hull Half Marathon.
I love being active, so I thought why not combine what I love with a worthy cause. I hope to raise at least £500 for Unity in Community so they can continue to provide community activities and help people become part of something in their local area.
Thanks for reading and any donation will be greatly appreciated!
