As a Scout Group we are very familiar with the phrase 'Be Prepared' but nothing prepares you for the act of mindless vandalism and burglary the Group has just experienced. Having to repair structural damage and replace all the burnt, stolen and broken goods is something which sadly goes with the experience, but even more devastating is the need to find more money to install surveillance equipment when we are already working flat out trying to raise additional funds.

As a Group we embarked on a major fundraising project about 5 years ago to replace our heating, and install accessible toilets and showers so that the wider community can also benefit from our wonderful facilities. Despite the pandemic we managed to erect a new store last year thereby releasing space for the alterations.

The group has no income other than that raised by themselves, with subscriptions covering the day to day running of the hall. We have been actively seeking grants and have been successful with some applications. At a time when we were hoping to increase our efforts further for a last push, we have been hit with a significant additional cost for surveillance equipment..

We are determined to reach our goal and with your support we know we will. Anything raised beyond the total will help us hugely with our on-going project and as always we would be happy to hear from anyone who feels they can help us in any way.
