Story

We are 3 ladies who in June 2024 set up a Ragdoll Cat Rescue. As lovers of this beautiful breed we realise that there is an alarming number of these beautiful cats that need help through no fault of their own. Reasons differ for each cat such as ill health, bereavement of their owner, change in their owners circumstances etc so we made the decision to try and do what we can to help them and make a difference. So we formed RaggiePaws - Ragdoll Rescue & Rehome.

Towards the end of 2024 we obtained Charity Status.

As you can imagine there are several cost implications, vet fees, food, toys, bedding, housing etc. We have some fabulous foster carers already on board up and down the country, we managed to purchase our first foster pen in 2024, but we need to supply at least 2 more purpose built foster houses for the cats that will be coming into our care. Very often these cats are poorly and need isolating, this must be done whilst offering them security and comfort to help them heal. These purpose built buildings come at a cost of around £4-5,000 each. Alongside general fundraising etc we have decided to start this page in the hope people will support us to reach our goal. We can't do this without your help.

About the charity

We are friends, Claudia, Helen & Sacha who share the same love and passion for the beautiful Ragdoll. A lot of you will already know Claudia or certainly recognise her in association with Ragdolls. For anyone that doesn’t, Claudia has a wealth of experience and knowledge around the breed from the show bench, welfare, grooming and kitten care. She also has years experience in fundraising so all that knowledge combined we know we can make a huge difference to the cats that need us. She is already working hard behind the scenes to raise money. In comparison, Helen is quite new to the world of Ragdolls but her passion and love for the breed is certainly there to be seen in equal measures. We wanted to give something back to the breed so what better way than to genuinely help those that, through no fault of their own, find themselves needing extra care or a new home. The welfare of both our own cats and any that need our help will always be our priority. **As we start to build funds our intention is to apply to become a registered charity. Any monies coming into the Rescue will be re-invested to help more cats** **November 2024 - We have been approved as a Registered Charity, Charity No. 1211132.
