A new library for The Raglan schools

Organised by RSA

Raglan is fundraising to convert a spare classroom into a new library. At the moment books are stored in classrooms and corridors. A library would be an essential space to browse and read books for pleasure, enhancing our strong reading culture.

We are a school PTA for Raglan Schools, Enfield. We are committed to raising money to support and supplement the already amazing education our children have.

Story

Raglan is fundraising to help convert a spare classroom into a new library. At the moment we have reading books in classrooms and corridors but we don’t have a dedicated library, which is an essential space to browse and read books for pleasure. Raglan is a federation of two schools with 930 pupils.

OfSTED recently reported that our “Reading is the beating heart of the school” (OfSTED, January 2025) which is a good reflection of our strong reading culture. A library would further enhance our provision and fill the gap left by the reduction of public libraries.

Fundraising Events

21 parents and staff are running the Saucony London 10k on the 13th July. You can sponsor their run individually or as a team on this page!

The children are invited to take part in a Virtual 10k spread over 6 weeks in June and July. Details have been shared with parents on how to enter. Any sponsorship money can be added to this Just Giving Page

Target

We welcome donations towards this project and have set an initial target of £15,000. Please do tick the Gift Aid option if you are eligible.

Update - Team Raglan gathered together to continue their preparations for the Saucony London 10k in two weeks. The Grovelands Parkrun was the venue for a 5km run. Runners continue to gather sponsorship here and on their own page towards to the new library.
